The Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx is a 27-inch QHD monitor with a lot to offer, and a definite favorite among gamers looking for the best all-around quality performance. Any discerning gamer will find real value here – a 1ms response time, adaptive sync technology, and IPS panel technology all displayed at a crystal-clear high resolution. If that’s what you’re looking for in a monitor, then this Acer Pbmiiprzx is an excellent choice.
You can certainly spend more, to get better specs and maybe a bigger screen, this Acer only packs entry-level Display HDR 400 support, and its QHD 1440p isn’t the highest, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ or the like. There are more modern monitors. Samsung Odyssey G5 is available with improved adaptive sync standards.
But if you’re shopping with the Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx, you’re getting a lot more value for your money, and if you’re upgrading from a more basic monitor, you’ll be impressed with what Acer has to offer.

Simply put, the genus Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx may be a stunning monitor. Everything from the slim border to the attractive, slim stand and rounded base makes for a clever design that will be eye-catching on your desk. The applied science stand offers 120mm height adjustment, -5°/20° tilt, 90° pivot, and 360° swivel. If you need to attach it to a wall, the wall bracket has 100 x 100 VESA-compatible holes to mount it.
Port options on this monitor include a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports, and a DisplayPort 1.4. In addition to these standard port options, there’s an included USB 3.0 hub and a headphone socket.
Port And Sound
The Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx is one of the few monitors that have side-mounted USB ports. This orientation of ports was popular in the past, and it is just mind-boggling that has become difficult to find. Other inputs located on the back include two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.2. Apart from this, there are also two more USB ports and an upstream jack.
There’s a headphone jack so you can hook up a headset as well, probably one of the best gaming headsets out there, or power speakers into the 3.5mm analog input. Otherwise, you can make do with 2-watt internal speakers. These speakers deliver reasonably clear sound with good bass at the upper midrange frequencies.
We find that the Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx is perfectly capable of handling whatever you want to do with your computer. Gaming, work, movie-bingeing, and photo-editing are all easy to get through, backed by a sharp and well-saturated picture. Color-critical applications will benefit from a select gamut, including sRGB, EBU, and even SMTPE-C.
On the other hand, for the most color image, Normal mode is sufficient as it uses the native gamut of the monitor which covers more than 90% of DCI-P3. Although the contrast measured is slightly below average, the monitor’s extra color saturation makes up for it. Black levels are deep, allowing bright and mid-range areas to pop nicely. While the Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx doesn’t hit 200 nits in the SDR model, it’s still bright enough for a sunny office.
With Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx monitors, gaming is always a pleasure – and that’s something we’ve confirmed with the HDR-capable Acer Nitro XV2 line. Despite technically being an sRGB title, modern games like Tomb Raider clearly benefit from the added color. You’ll love the saturation of the primary colors that make the image pop with texture and detail. During gameplay, shadow areas are clearly visible, especially at 5K Black Boost, with highlights that are clear and bright without harsh or overflowing.
Being an HDR-capable monitor, it is possible to switch to Windows and benefit from the HDR 400 option available in the Picture menu. In that case, it looks better than the default Auto setting, thanks to the significantly brighter highlights. On the XV272U Pbmiiprzx, HDR is perfectly usable in Windows, but it can get too bright for darker environments.
HDR gaming also won’t disappoint on HDR titles like Call of Duty: WWII. While the Acer XV272U doesn’t quite meet the standard set by some of the best HDR monitors we reviewed, like the Acer Predator XB273K, HDR looks better than on screens that don’t use any sort of dynamic contrast feature.
On most modern titles, the framerate on the GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card will remain locked at around 144 frames per second (fps), whether HDR is running or not. Similarly, running FreeSync on a Radeon RX 5700 XT-based machine yields between 120 and 130 fps while not having adaptational refresh issues.
Overall, the Acer Nitro XV272U is a super-fast gaming monitor, and we expect it to be perfectly suited for more skilled players or even eSports competitors. At this price point, the Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx monitor is poised to succeed in both categories (gaming and work).
Our Rating | Excellent
The Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx is a 27-inch monitor that ticks all the image quality marks and delivers nearly identical gaming performance on a premium screen for far less money.
- Stellar gaming experience

- Only supports entry-level HDR
- Limited stand adjustability
The Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx is a great 27-inch monitor that has everything you need to perfect both sports and games. We love it for the high-quality performance, attractive design, and features it offers for a good price. Everything on this monitor is simply impressive – from the high-resolution IPS panel to the FreeSync support to the superb color coverage that’s simply irresistible.
Like any other electronic gadget, although there are some limitations. For example, it can’t play FreeSync and HDR simultaneously, but that’s the only noticeable flaw and not a reason not to buy this monitor.
That said, the LG 27GL850-B remains our Editors’ alternative for mid-size gaming monitors, due to a 27-inch QHD IPS monitor, 1MS interval, 144Hz refresh rate, Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and an ultra-thin design. Thank you.
Nevertheless, the genus Acer Nitro XV272U Pbmiiprzx monitor is an associated equally nice gaming monitor that delivers beautiful image quality, while the enclosed FreeSync technology ensures perfect gaming and productivity performance.
