Design

The CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A’s design is great, lifting off from its predecessor, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Master GMA1390A2, which we reviewed last year, but instead of a plain front panel, it adds an RGB fan on the front floor. Otherwise, everything else is pretty familiar, including the tempered glass side panels, RGB lighting on the internal fans, and port selection. The CyberPowerPC logo is printed on the top of the breathing-LED fan, and you can easily see the look of the gaming PC.

The whole thing measures 22.5 x 20.3 x 13 inches and weighs 34.8 pounds. While I wouldn’t call this a standard form factor build, it’s still relatively small compared to your average mid-tower.

Bundled in the package is a basic gaming keyboard and mouse, along with 802.11AC Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.

Ports

On the top panel (on the front) are easy-access ports: two USB 3.1, a microphone and headphones, and a reset button.

On the back of CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A, you have several ports for all your components, including two USB 2.0, four USB 3.1, an RJ-45 networked Ethernet, and an audio 7.1 channel. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super graphics card also includes an HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 for dual-monitor setups.

Productivity Performance

Because the CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A has so many configurations that aren’t very different, it’s hard to generalize the performance of this gaming PC. For this review, therefore, we’ll focus on our review unit, the Master GMA890Ae, which, while souped-up, isn’t the most expensive option in the Gamer Master series.

It has AMD’s Ryzen 5 3600 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB PCIe-NVMe SSD plus a 1TB hard drive, making it a strong productivity machine for gaming as well.

Gaming And Graphics

Our review model of CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A comes with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super (with 4GB) graphics card. You can’t play every game at its highest settings, but these graphics will work for many avid gamers. You can play the controls at higher settings, and it’ll hover around 40 and 50 games per second (fps), and similar games pay well. The five medium-sized fans aren’t too loud trying to cool the whole affair.

At this price range, real-world gaming is a mixed bag, with similarly priced gaming PCs offering better performance. The CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A runs at 94 fps on Hitman (1920×1080, Ultra); Rise of the Tomb Raider (1920×1080, MUCH), and Grand Theft Auto V (1920×1080, MUCH) at 53 fps.

As we look at the many midrange built already in the market, we have reviewed a considerable number and we can easily compare in both pricing and gaming performance. The SkyTech Archangel 3.0 and HP Omen 25L are excellent choices, both with Nvidia’s RTX 3060 (12GB) graphics cards a few dollars more.

Compared to the GTX 1650 SuperGraphics, the RTX 3060 delivers more at between 13-25 fps on most games, and it justifies the extra dollar you’re spending. If you need a future-proof gaming rig at a reasonable price, the Skytech Archangel 3.0 and HP Omen 25L both offer value that’s hard to beat, both now and in the years to come.

Our Rating | Excellent

The CyberPowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A is a pre-built gaming PC that can play most games at high settings and still run your productivity tasks smoothly at a great cost.

Pros

  • Lots of power
  • Appealing, tool-less design
  • Highly upgradable

Cons

  • Competitors offer better GPUs

Conclusion

CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A is a pre-built gaming PC that can play most games at high settings and still run your productivity tasks smoothly. It does that job well for the price, and I’ll have to hand it over to CyberPowerPC; There are a ton of configuration options.

If you’re looking to future-proof yourself as a starting base for getting into the big world of PC building, I suggest looking at the SkyTech Archangel 3.0 and the HP OMEN 25L, which use the improved RTX 3060 graphics card.

But if you’re more focused on lots of ports and solid out-of-the-box performance, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Master GMA890A desktop will serve you something you can set up and play quickly.
