Xiaomi entered the foldable smartphone market four years ago with the Mi Mix Fold. Since then the Chinese tech giant has launched several folding phones. But each of them was book-style. That is, it can be folded from the middle like a book. However, there have been rumors for a long time that Xiaomi is working on a flip-style folding smartphone. It may debut as Xiaomi Mix Flip. And now, several specifications and features of the phone have been revealed.
Specifications of Xiaomi Mix Flip
According to a popular tipster, Xiaomi’s first flip phone could offer flagship grade specifications and features. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is now Qualcomm’s most premium processor. Besides, it can support satellite communication. That means there will be a system to call without network. This is a feature which has become a must in premium grade handsets these days.
Xiaomi has yet to reveal any information regarding its upcoming clamshell folding device. However, some old reports suggested that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset could be replaced by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The design of the front and rear panels along with the camera will be one of the highlights of the Xiaomi Mix Flip.
Note that it is not yet clear when the Xiaomi Mix Flip will be officially released. But it is likely to launch alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The ‘Ultra’ model is rumored to be released in China by the end of February. So Xiaomi Mix Flip may also come next month. At the moment, this is all that is known about Xiaomi’s first flip phone.
